The Monster Water Jug series references back to pre-Columbian art in the Americas. The highly figurative vessels created during this time speak to a culture that found the spiritual or symbolic everywhere in the world around them. Our “modern” culture is highly rational, leaving little room for the way that the universe around us might become animated. The Monster Water Jug series attempts to experiment with re-animating objects like the simple water jug.
